Road Trip

Last Thursday, February 13, 2020 we headed down from Sobradinho to Lages in the yellow sandrail.  There hadn't been any recent rains, so we went hopeful for a little less mud than our last trip.  Our regular weekly route is in purple.  The blue is a survey trip we made last week. We make this trip every week.  T he mostly dirt road still had quite a few large mud holes especially from recent rains.  Most could be skirted around, but there were still a few as wide as the road with no way to avoid.  That day we had three Bible studies and spent the night in Lages.  We are thankful for a Christian lady who runs a little inn where we've been staying on some of overnight trips. I have to tell you about the lady near the bread store who offers breakfast in the mornings and snacks in the afternoon.  Last week I walked over to her place around 7:00 am to see about some breakfast.  She was locking up the place.  Seems she ser...

Bound for the Amazon: Pedro Henrique

School of Missions, January 2020 Bruno, Byron and Pedro Henrique Byron and I have known Pedro Henrique for quite a few years now, and we like him a whole lot.  He is a faithful member of the congregation here in Sobradinho.  He is the only one of his immediate family that goes to church.  A teenager that goes to church on his own says a lot.  He doesn't just go, he participates actively.   This next week he's getting ready to buy plane tickets to travel on his fourth missions trip with Wordless Ministries.  He doesn't need much help, as he works a full time job.  The tickets are a little out of his reach, so any help you can give would be well appreciated.   These trips are an investment in the lives of young men and women.  Wordless Ministry trips are both missions oriented and full of discipleship.  My prayer for Pedro is to see him dedicate his life to full time Christian service.  Perhaps this trip will be the d...
