A Lost "Sole"

All of our boys have gotten lost at one time or another and were always losing things when they were small.   Having William here for five weeks during June and July reminded me just how much of that losing always had something to do with him.  After he had been here for just a few days, he had stuff of his own in every room of the house and scattered outside.  He was always looking for his stuff and could rarely find any of it on his own.  Today's story is about a time that William lost or forgot his shoes!   There's a place not real far from our house with some "prehistoric drawings."  I put that in quotes because any time someone puts the word "prehistoric" with another word, the thought of billions and billions of years pop into most people's heads.  These drawings are old, most of them anyway, but probably not as old as some scientists would rate.  Anyhow, from time to time we've gone out to the spot to hike around.   One day i...

Moving to a New House

So my Texas boys have moved this week to a new state.  Does that mean I have to call you by some other name?  Hmmm... I'll have to think on that.  If you were Texas cowboys before, what are you now living in Indiana?  Indiana Indians?  Well, I better keep on thinking. Talking about moving reminded me of a story about of a time when our family moved out of our house in Fortaleza.  William was 8.  Dalton was 6.  Greyson was still three.  We had to pack up all of our stuff early to have it taken to a new state - Bahia, and we had to pack for furlough.  We were trying to sell our house in Fortaleza.  So we had to get everything out before we left for the States.  Uncle Byron took all of our belongings to a missionary's house in Bahia and we went to stay a few days at the Fortaleza Academy's guest house.   Several months before our big move and furlough, little Greyson had lost his glasses.  I don't know if you boys know b...

Lost Stuff

Seems the people in my house are always losing things and that I am the one who has to find them.  While we were staying in Eden there in the old "Uncle Bob" house, Dalton lost something another just about every day.  Usually I found whatever it was within minutes - either on his bed, one that table by the big recliner chair, or on the table that was between the two beds in the room where Dalton and Greyson slept.  Several times Dalton just had to smile as I found whatever it was in seconds. Sadly I didn't find Greyson's Portuguese Bible before we left the States.  The day before we left, Greyson commented that he couldn't seem to find it.  I looked rapidly around but not extensively thinking it would show up as we were cleaning and organizing to go.  The day we were to leave there was still no sign of the little black Bible.  I looked under the bed where Greyson had been sleeping and all around that little table.  I looked in his backpack.  ...
