Fixing Things: Repost and Rethough

Wherever my dad goes, he fixes things:  bikes, boats, boys - and even broken hearts.  This is an old post that I have edited this morning.  Happy Father's Day to my favorite Dad! When your I was little my family lived in Baltimore, Maryland.  I had three uncles, my mother's brothers - Uncle Duane, Uncle Regene, and Uncle Leon.  I had quite a few cousins, and saw them all the time. All the uncles would get my Daddy to help with the engines on their boats.  Baltimore is right on the Chesapeake Bay.  All the uncles had boats and would go out fishing and cruising around on the bay.  My Daddy knew a lot about boat engines from his time in the Coast Guard as a mechanic.    Once a bunch of us were out on one of the boats and ended up stranded with a engine problem. I don't remember what the problem was, but I remember the fun and adventure part!  We kids weren't scared much at all.  It was great. One of the aunts raided the ...

Green Mountains

This past weekend we got to visit a little town in the mountains called Campo Formoso which translated means Beautiful Field.  The elevation is just right to make it a little cooler than where we live.  And it's in just the right little place to have a little more rain than we do.  So, it's was a refreshing visit. We enjoyed the green views and seeing some little creeks with running water. It's amazing how a little creek and a little chill makes the difference in a place.   Byron and I enjoyed our trip and had the opportunity to present our work in a new church.  Sometimes you don't have to go too far to see new sights and just enjoy.

Vaccinated!

It was a quiet moment.  Tears did come to my eyes briefly.  No one shouted, well one lady was hollaring something about why the beautiful politician lady got to go before she did.   I didn't figure out that she was talking about me until after we were leaving.  Apparently she had been in line prior to our arrival, but was told to go home and get her identification documents and had to get back in line.    If she only knew who I really was and that I was just glad to finally get my little old shot!  At least she said I was pretty.  Must have been my updo hairdo?   So, there you go.  Second dose in a month or so if the lot of second doses comes in on time.
